As part of our campaign to transform healthcare using 21st century technology and practices, 2020health is held an all day Summit on telehealth on 28th June 2011 in partnership with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). The event was co-chaired by Dr Clare Gerada (chair, RCGPs), as part of her campaign to improve the adoption of telehealth, and Julia Manning, 2020health CEO.
This Summit showcased how telehealth can be used to transform patient care from the consulting room to the community and into the home. The overall objective was to build on the recommendations made in 2020health’s recent acclaimed report “Healthcare without walls - a framework for delivering telehealth at scale” and identify how it can be done.
Session objectives included the chance to:
- Learn from GP Pioneers
- Identify how Government can enable uptake of telehealth
- See examples of pathway redesign across primary and secondary cared acute sector experience
- Establish health and social care integration and the impact on service provision
The event was targeted at leaders and representatives from the Royal Colleges, Local Government Association, Clinical Commissioning Champions (on behalf of GP Pathfinder Consortia), PCT Cluster Leads, Civil Servants, and Social Services.
