Our latest report ‘Personal health records – putting patients in control?’ takes up the promise of the coalition government for people to have control over their own health records, and the commitment to allow everyone electronic access to their GP record by 2015. Our report asks what this means for the public. And is this what patients want? How will privacy be respected? Will it help people look after themselves? What are the advantages and will GPs be able to deliver on the government's promise?
